ZHOOSH Fitness Garage offers a variety of classes for young and oldish alike (I can say that cause I’m 51!)
We are mostly a Mixed Martial Arts Center and Personal Training facility, offering Boxing, Karate, Co-ed Kickboxing, Women’s only Kickboxing, Capoeira PWR!Moves (Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery) and Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s.

FOXY KICKBOXING Okay – we get it. You don’t want to be the next Mike Tyson, and you certainly don’t want to break a nail. That doesn’t mean you can’t break a sweat and train in one of the most intense fitness disciplines.
Kickboxing will help increase fat loss, stress relief, flexibility, and self confidence. All around it just kicks ass.
Foxy Kickboxing was created by women, for women. It is fun, empowering, and did we mention it’s an awesome workout? You will be sore and sweaty, but you will love it!
We are learning everyday that there are ways in which people with Parkinson’s disease can enhance their daily quality of life and even build impressive power, strength, flexibility and speed! By exercising with Coaches who know the ropes, you can fight your way out of the corner and start to feel and function better.
Boxing works by moving your body in all planes of motion while continuously changing the routine as you progress through the workout. These classes have proven that anyone, at any level of Parkinson’s, can actually lessen their symptoms and lead a healthier/happier life.
PWR!Moves are the building blocks of FUNction. Participants with focus on the BASIC4 | PWR Moves of UP|ROCK|TWIST|STEP. These exercises are designed to teach people how to use HIGH EFFORT, large movements and complete muscle ACTIVATION.
The BASIC4 | PWR!Moves are performed with large amplitude, high effort, and attention to action in multiple postures (floor, all 4’s, sitting, and standing). They specifically target “4” skills shown by research to interfere with mobility in people with PD (antigravity extention, weight shifting, axial mobility, and transitional movements).
All clients are required to book an individual one-hour assessment in order to determine suitability for the program. The initial assessment will screen for safety, physical limitations, and health risks. Clients will receive personal instruction to the specific PWR!Moves that will allow them to maximize results. This session will also provide personalized strategies to pursue during the group classes and at home.
Focus, attention and listening skills are all improved by training in a karate program that your child will really enjoy. Our karate training program emphasises improving balance and coordination in our young students. Because it uses such a wide range of movement, Karate is great for teaching students body awareness and for developing fitness. The best way to “Bully Proof” a child is to give them confidence and nothing works better than martial arts training.

The best way to “Bully Proof” your child is with the confidence they get from training in the Martial Arts Respect: An attitude of respect is a huge part of Karate tradition and that attitude carries over to life outside the dojo including home and school. Our instructor’s emphasis on technique, self-control and proper attitude provides for a safe learning environment for all our students. The use of proper equipment and padding plus our open training space adds to our great safety record.
